in 2025, the Genêts d’or celebrate their fiftieth anniversary of music

On April 8, 1975, the Genêts d’or clique of Haut-Mauco was registered in the register of associations by André Escoubet, first president of the association. Between hunting horns, bugles, drums and other percussion, the group of young people from the village, led by their leader at the time Henri Lafenêtre, blew the first festive notes of a musical adventure which would grow richer over the years and become the beating heart of the life of the town and surrounding areas.

Saturday January 18, 2025, at 7 p.m., the traditional Sainte-Cécile concert at the cultural entertainment center (free entry) will have a special flavor. On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Genêts d’or musique, the approximately 50 musicians of the main and junior harmony, under the direction of conductor Xavier Guérin, have prepared a more than varied program. This one goes from “We are the champions” to Lady Gaga, via Joe Dassin, “The moons of Cuzco” or even “The magic of Harry Potter”, without forgetting “The divine surprises”, as revealed in the current president Thomas Bertoni. The evening will end, as it should, with a convivial meal

Five events for five decades

Beyond this concert which will retrace five decades of from all eras and styles, musical art will be at the center of 2025 events, with no less than five events. On February 15, concert by the drum band La Castésienne de Castets around a modern variety repertoire. On March 22, concert by the Air Force Band, on a jazz-broadway theme. On April 19, Tub’à Easter concert and regional masterclass day with tuba and euphonium students. On May 11, participation in the junior competition of the Condom bandas festival to defend the title obtained in 2024. And on June 15, Music Festival of the music school. Suffice to say that this year 2025 promises to be more than festive.

All the information relating to the various events can be found on the Genêts d’or social networks.
