An infant died this Sunday, January 12, in a fire in an apartment in Elbeuf, in Seine-Maritime. Around 9:30 a.m., firefighters were called to a fire on the 4th floor of a building, where “children were reportedly stuck”, rue du Moulin Saint-Etienne, a priority district of the city.
24 vehicles and 42 firefighters were then mobilized to put out this fire. In this apartment, a 36-year-old woman was rescued, as well as her three children aged 4, 9 and 11, who were slightly injured. They were transported to the Elbeuf hospital center.
-Smoke was also present in the common areas. Among the 16 victims, 11 were unhurt. 65 people were evacuated during the intervention, and were taken care of by the municipal reserve. The tenants of the accommodation impacted by the fire will be rehoused by the lessor.
The Minister of the City, Juliette Méadel, spoke on The mayor, Djoudé Merabet, sent a “warm and friendly thought for the family”.
