Gunshots and attempted murder: a mistake regarding the person considered

Lévis police are continuing their investigation into an attempted murder that occurred Saturday evening in the parking lot of a hotel located on Route des Rivières.

According to the Lévis police department, the hypothesis of mistaken identity is currently being considered.

The event would have occurred in the context of the drug control conflict between criminal groups which is raging in the Quebec region. The Lévis police indicate that he could have had a mistaken identity.

The victim, aged in his twenties, would be a citizen from outside, passing through the region.

No other details were provided by the Lévis City Police Department (SPVL).

Remember that on Saturday, around 10:45 p.m., emergency services were called after shots were heard in the hotel parking lot. A person seriously injured by several projectiles was found on the ground. The victim was rushed to a hospital in the Quebec region.

He is still said to be in stable condition.

A long weapon was also found nearby.

The shots also hit the hotel building. One of the projectiles went through a window as you can see. At that time, young hockey players from outside were staying there. Fortunately, no guests or hotel employees were injured.

The Lévis police, with the support of the Sûreté du Québec, carried out an analysis of the scene and are continuing the investigation.

So far, no suspects have been arrested.
