You only need to see the parking lot of the Saint-Germain-du-Crioult multipurpose hall filled to understand the enthusiasm around the association of friendship club. Club which must now be called by its new name, chosen at the general assembly of January 9: “Club St Germain”.
The team stops in 2027
The management team was unanimously re-elected. Remy Mérouze as a member, Alain Déclais is the vice-president and Alain Lequertierin addition to being the elected representative of Saint-Germain-du-Crioult at the town hall of Condé-en-Normandie, is renewed as treasurer of the association.
This team announced that they would continue at the head of the association with the president until the end of their mandate, on December 31, 2027.
“The role of president is the equivalent of a three-quarter time job,” breathes Bernadette Mérouze, who wishes to hand over the reins.
“I feel more relaxed for announcing it. I will do everything to ensure that the association is taken over at the end of our mandate,” she commits with passion after 13 years of dedication.
A commitment that is difficult to replace for members. “We’re a little sad. I hope that it will be resumed in 2027,” comments Hervé, a member since the association existed.
While waiting for a buyer, the group of philosopher friends. “For now, we’re staying. We are in Saint-Germain. »
Registrations limited to Condé-en-Normandie
It is one of the strong measures announced in front of the 256 members present today for the galette des rois. The president, Bernadette Mérouze, looked at the other significant decision of the year 2025.
From now on, we are only open to residents of Condé-en-Normandie. Members who live outside the municipality remain, but new ones will no longer be accepted.
A measure taken for logistical reasons. “When we organize large events, it becomes complicated to fit more than 300 people into a room,” explains the manager since the association took over in 2015.
The membership card remains at 24 euros.
7 new members
For this first meeting of the year, 7 new members were welcomed.
Odile, new to the association, is already very well integrated at the table. “Everyone is welcoming. I was already in a club in Saint-Denis-de-Méré but I was advised to come here for the atmosphere,” she describes.
In a friendly atmosphere, the 297 members meet every Thursday for common activities. Walking, pétanque, belote, tarot, dictation and dancing delight members aged 45 to 98. “Between 95 and 115 people come every Thursday,” presents the president, very invested in her members.
Trip to the Vosges
In 2025, five day trips are planned. A big trip will take the volunteers to the Vosges in November. Something to delight Geneviève, who has already left Alsace in 2024.
“The trip was really well organized, it’s really a moment that will stay with me for a long time,” she relishes with a broad smile.
For this year’s trip, members are already rushing to register. “These are the first registered who come,” says the president who worked her entire career in retirement homes before taking on this position of president working with the elderly.
In addition to travel and weekly activitiesthe club occasionally organizes events such as tea dances. An entry of money in addition to municipal subsidies of €3,100.
