The Pelicans are cracking down with Zion Williamson! Late to catch the plane with his teammates, the power forward was suspended by his franchise for one match. He will therefore miss tonight’s meeting against the Sixers.
Latecomers and especially absentees are always wrong, as the saying goes. Zion Williamson will also have to learn this lesson. According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the power forward will not play tonight against the Sixers. His Pelicans team suspended him for this game. The motive? The player reportedly arrived late to board the plane with the team to Philadelphia. NOLA therefore decided to crack down by suspending him for the match in Pennsylvania.

If it had been an isolated act, we might have found it harsh on the part of the Pels but according to Chris Haynes, Zion’s lateness to training has been numerous this season and this delay at the airport was obviously the last straw for Willie Green and his people.

Regularly criticized for his weight and very often injured since the start of his career, Zion Williamson seems to confirm that he has difficulty disciplining himself. Not exactly the attitude of the leader that NOLA would like to redress its sporting situation in the Western Conference. Just back from injury and very much to his advantage in the last match, Zion will have to watch his friends in civilian clothes this evening at the Wells Fargo Center. We should normally find him on Sunday evening, for his team’s trip to the Boston Celtics field.
