Following the various unofficial previews of the Nintendo Switch 2, notably during CES 2025, the Japanese manufacturer reacted for the first time.
CES 2025 ends on January 10, 2025 and this year will have been a little special with the whole Nintendo Switch 2 affair. Even before the show, the accessories manufacturer Genki had announced the presence of products dedicated to the next console from Big N, even though the latter still does not officially exist. But this small independent company, known in particular for its very practical portable Switch dock, attracted all eyes with a model “perfectly identical” to the Nintendo Switch 2 according to what they said on their stand. Big N speaks out after Nintendo Switch 2 leaks
With its Nintendo Switch 2 model, Genki offered itself a free promotion. But obviously, this 3D printed mockup, taking into account the rumors, and based on a real console that the company would have intercepted on the black market, is not completely accepted. And for good reason, this could have not really pleasant consequences for this independent manufacturer. The Genki company is even starting to regret this “stunt” around the Nintendo Switch 2 if we are to believe an interview with our colleague Melinda Davan-Soulas from BFM. “Genki admits to having been overwhelmed by his desire to communicate and is worried about the risks”. It’s too late to go back anyway.
After all the leaks and this affair on the Nintendo Switch 2 at CES 2025, Big N reacted for the first time to the Japanese media Sankei. Does the manufacturer confirm this design for its console and the new controllers? Obviously not. « Images and videos are not official » declares the Japanese company. An expected answer, but which is at least a little more original than the traditional « we do not comment on rumors ».
And besides, this reaction raises questions. While it is true that these images and videos are not official, and are not based on an official product, Big N does not seem to deny the possible design of the Nintendo Switch 2 itself.
