Sunday January 12, Marine Le Pen spoke for the first time officially since the death of her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen. She tells how she heard the news.

Jean-Marie Le Pen died on Tuesday January 7 at the age of 96. Marine Le Pen, former president of the National Rally, was returning from her trip to Mayotte on the day of her father’s death. According to initial information from BFMTV, the MP learned the news during her return by plane where several journalists present had received the AFP alert announcing the death of the founder of the National Front. It was only after this moment that Marine Le Pen isolated herself in order to call her family.

But this Sunday, January 12, the Sunday Journal published the first official interview with the sister of Yann and Marie-Caroline since the death of Jean-Marie Le Pen. Marine Le Pen revealed how she actually heard the news. “My press officer came to see me saying that there was a rumor about my father’s death. I had already experienced this ten times. At the time I didn’t believe it. Out of conscience, knowing his very fragile state of health, I called my sister to find out what was going on. And it was she who taught it to me”confided the president of the RN group to the National Assembly.
