“We raised our children and grandchildren there”: Billy Crystal lost the house he had lived in for 46 years in the Los Angeles fires

Comedian Billy Crystal gave a poignant testimony by revealing that the house where he lived for 46 years was destroyed by the violent fires which have ravaged several areas of Los Angeles for two days.

Like several other Hollywood celebrities, the actor from the cult comedy When Harry Met Sally and his wife, Janice Crystal, evacuated their home Tuesday when the fire took over the upscale neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, located in the Los Angeles hills.

“Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and currently experiencing. We grieve for our friends and neighbors who also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy,” Billy Crystal wrote in a statement sent to the magazine. People.

“Janice and I had lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren there. Every square inch of our house was filled with love. These are beautiful memories that cannot be taken away from us. We are heartbroken, of course, but the love of our children and our friends will get us through this ordeal.”

The actor who hosted the Oscars 8 times concluded his letter by sending his prayers for the safety of firefighters and first responders and paying tribute to the residents of his neighborhood.

“Pacific Palisades is a resilient community of extraordinary people and we know that in time it will recover. This is our home.”
