Following the violent weather episodes that impacted the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region last October, a prefect responsible for reconstruction and flooding was appointed.
In order to support the reconstruction of areas impacted by the violent weather episodes of October 16 and 17 in Givors, a prefect responsible for reconstruction and flooding for the AURA region was appointed. Appointed by the Council of Ministers, Jehan-Eric Winckler will now be delegated to the prefect of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region Fabienne Buccio.
Support the reconstruction of impacted territories
The appointment of this prefect should enable support for territories impacted by floods and landslides that occurred in several departments in the region. “The delegated Prefect will lead, on an interdepartmental scale and in close collaboration with the prefects of the departments concerned, the interministerial action of State services, agencies and public operators to support the reconstruction of the impacted territories.” explains the prefect’s office in a press release.
Jehan-Eric Winckler will also ensure the coordination and monitoring of all the measures and systems put in place to manage floods, such as aid to disaster victims or the long-term reconstruction of the adaptability of territories.
