Saudi football fans are eagerly awaiting a thrilling clash between Saudi club Al Hilal and their rivals Al-Ittihad of Jeddah in the Saudi Classico this Tuesday evening as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup competitions.

The match between Al Hilal and Al-Ittihad will begin today at 7:30 p.m. Cairo time at the Kingdom Arena in the quarterfinals of the Custodian Cup of the Two Holy Mosques for the 2024-2025 season.

Al Hilal qualified for the quarter-finals of the King’s Cup by beating their counterparts Al-Taei with a convincing 4-1 victory at the Prince Abdulaziz bin Musaed bin Jalawi Stadium in the round of 16.

Meanwhile, Al-Ittihad from Jeddah dominated their opponents from Al-Jandal with a score of 2-0, in a match played at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium during the round of 16.

Al Hilal are considered the reigning champions of the last edition of the Custos of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, which they won against traditional rivals Al-Nasr after a dramatic penalty shootout that ended in a score 5-4 after a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time.

Saudi club Al-Ahly holds the record for the most King’s Cup victories in history, having won the trophy 13 times in 18 finals, and finishing in second position on 5 occasions.

Al-Hilal Club ranks second among clubs with the most titles in the Saudi King’s Cup, with 11 trophies, closely followed by Al-Ittihad Club with 9 championships.
