Tomás Orqueida has officially joined Nueva Chicago as the club’s latest signing. What makes this transfer remarkable? The 21-year-old winger had auditioned to enter the famous reality TV show Big Brother in 2025, but was ultimately unsuccessful and will continue his football career with the Mataderos team.
The club announced on its social networks: “The player Tomás Orqueida has signed a contract with our institution. The young 21-year-old offensive talent will be linked to Nueva Chicago until December 31, 2025. He arrives for free after his last stint at Laferrere , having previously played at Huracán, Racing and Vélez.”
Orqueida was among the young talents who recorded an audition for the reality TV show, which aired from December 2. “I have a contract until December (with Laferrere), but I can terminate it, and I am ready to do that because entering the house is a dream for me. I am a super fan and I know that I am the kind of person this house needs. I’m fun, funny and bold,” he expressed in the video.
