Newcastle takes a big option for the final on Arsenal’s pitch!

Newcastle are getting closer to the League Cup final! Indeed, the Magpies triumphed, in style, on Arsenal’s pitch in the semi-final first leg of the competition. Eddie Howe’s charges were clinical this evening on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium. If a post was hit by the Gunners, it was the inevitable Alexander Isak who opened the scoring in the first half, like a real surface fox. This is the Swedish international’s 50th goal in all competitions for Newcastle in just 89 games. Magic.

The offensive ineffectiveness of the Gunners

Returning from the locker room, Mikel Arteta’s men put on even more rhythm than in the first act. In vain. Anthony Gordon came to add to the score in the 51st minute of play, celebrating in “Thierry Henry” style. Subsequently, the Gunners tried everything to get back into the match. But out of 23 shots, only three were on target. This evening, it is Arsenal’s offensive inefficiency which should be highlighted. However, it is a big move from the Magpies who are taking a serious option with a view to likely qualifying for the League Cup final. It will now be necessary to confirm at St James-Park on February 5.

To summarize

For this first semi-final first leg of the League Cup, Newcastle took the upper hand at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal. Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon are the Magpies’ scorers. On the other hand, the Gunners were really clumsy in the last gesture.
