Marine Le Pen victim of a boat accident leaving ten injured in Mayotte: “It was inevitable”

Two boats, one of which was transporting Marine Le Pen, collided on Tuesday January 7, 2025 in Mayotte, leaving 10 injured according to the local press, but the leader of the RN deputies is, safe and sound.

Marine Le Pen, present on the barge in Mayotte at the time of the collision on Tuesday, was finally able to reach Petite-Terre thanks to a border police zodiac to take her return flight.

The boat “arrived very very very quickly”

In Mayotte, the islands of Grande-Terre and Petite-Terre (where the airport is located) are connected by rotations of boats and barges.

Marine Le Pen, traveling in the 101st French department following Cyclone Chido which hit the island very hard three weeks ago, was on the barge linking Grande-Terre to Petite-Terre when the accident took place.

« (The boat) arrived very, very quickly, it was inevitable», Testified the leader of the National Rally on the Mayotte La Première channel, who mentioned a death toll of 10 injured.

The RN clarified that no member of the delegation accompanying Ms. Le Pen had been injured. This accident paralyzed the rotations of the barges for more than an hour, AFP journalists noted.
