TGV and Intercités ticket prices will increase from Wednesday January 8, announced Alain Krakovitch, director of TGV-Intercités at SNCF Voyageurs, this Tuesday. Regarding TGVs, prices will increase by 1.5% on average. If the minimum prices will not change, this is not the case for the maximum prices which will undergo an increase ranging from 1 to 7 euros per ticket. On the Intercités, the increase will be on average 1.9% in the price of tickets by decision of the State, which organizes the Intercités.
Concerning the Junior & Cie program, which allows children to travel alone, the ticket price will increase on average by 3 euros, and the package by 1 euro. Max Active and Max Active+ subscriptions will increase by an average of 4% per month.
In addition to the minimum prices of TGV tickets, those of TGV Max subscriptions (young people and seniors) and the price and benefits of the Avantage card and the Liberté card remain unchanged.
Alain Krakovitch justifies this increase by a 3% increase in SNCF costs in 2025. This includes in particular the increase in the price of rail tolls, inflation, the cost of energy, investment for new TGV M and to renovate existing TGVs.
