Jean-Marie Le Pen, historic figure of the French far right, has died at the age of 96

The founder of the National Front, Jean-Marie Le Pen, died in Garches in the region, in an establishment where he had been admitted several weeks ago, his family informed AFP, this Tuesday, January 7, 2025. A statement from his family said he was surrounded by his family at the time of his death. Jean-Marie Le Pen handed over the presidency of the FN in 2011 to his daughter Marine, and was excluded from the party in August 2015, officially because of his positions on the regime and the Shoah. He remained honorary president until March 2018.

If there is one value that the National Front holds at its pinnacle, it is that of the family. And it is on this model that Jean-Marie Le Pen built his party. Him, the paterfamilias and his children who work for the prosperity of the FN. And beware of those who have any desire for autonomy; the secessionists are punished, we do not compromise with family values. With this scheme, Jean-Marie Le Pen managed in a few decades to single-handedly embody the French extreme right, making short work of the chapels and small groups sent back to their frogs.

Stroke of fortune

All these little people, Jean-Marie, his wife Jany, his ex-wife Pierrette, his daughters Yann and Marine (with the exception of the eldest Marie-Caroline) and their companions, his grandchildren, lived in the vast paternal property of Montretout in Saint-Cloud, a stone’s throw from Paris.
