The FRAA today filed a new indefinite strike notice. Among the demands, the revaluation of the index of category D agents. If no agreement is reached by January 13, the strike will take effect on the 14th.
This morning on our radio antenna, Gérard Barff, deputy secretary general of the FRAAP, and aerodrome firefighter instructor, indicated that a strike notice was filed this Monday, January 6 in various services and administrative establishments in the territory.
Among the demands, the main one concerns “the application of the firm commitment made by the President during the negotiations of December 11, 2024 aimed at revaluing the index of civil servants in category D from the 1st step of each grade by 20 points “. “We never talked about 5 points. How can we explain to the population and officials [concernés] qWho is lying in this matter?” recalls Gérard Barff, “the word given is important”.

Two other demands from FRAAP:
– The establishment and implementation of a timetable with fixed dates in 2025, concerning the revaluation of the index scales of civil servants in categories C, B and A. “Because you have to write everything down with them, words are useless, they don’t keep their commitments”continues Gérard Barff.
– The revaluation of the salary index point of civil servants within a minimum range of 1,300 CFP and maximum of 1,500 CFP as part of the negotiations planned with the trade union organizations in March or April 2024. “What we are asking is not excessive, it is the reality of things”indicates the deputy general secretary of the SAY, “we will be very firm…the strict minimum service: minimum escapes and flights”, in case of effective strike.
On the side of the Presidency, “we’ll see if they go on strike”retorts Moetai Brotherson, “It’s been 3 times that they have been offered meetings to which they do not come, 2 times during the first strike, 1 time recently following the holding of the higher council of the civil service. At some point, we have to be serious too . We come to the appointments we have set ourselves.”
