Ariana Grande dazzles in vintage Givenchy at the 2025 Golden Globes

During the promotional tour of WickedI’ve often pointed out how nice it is to see that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo don’t have any disagreements with each other. They have been working together for two years now on Wicked and they still have to promote the second film. Both artists have reputations for having somewhat difficult – non-judgmental – personalities, and I am still amazed at their ability to maintain an apparent friendship and solidarity throughout this period. Obviously, the idea that “two women get along wonderfully despite expectations of tension” is not very salesy. For the occasion, Ariana wore a vintage Givenchy dress from 1966, meant to evoke the style of Audrey Hepburn. That said, let’s hope Ariana doesn’t go anywhere near an Audrey Hepburn biopic. As for the dress itself, I find it rather ordinary – there are so many other vintage looks that are more fascinating – but I love that Ariana went vintage at the Globes. Cynthia, on the other hand, chose Louis Vuitton – she established a strong relationship with the LV house, which created many custom looks for her.

Wicked did not even win the prize for Best Musical or Comedy, having been beaten by Emilia Perez. This seems… surprising to me.
