The crime was committed around 2 p.m., at the corner of Milton Street and Parc Avenue, an intersection that nearby police officers know very well.
Several citizens called 911 to report the attack.
When emergency services arrived, they found the 27-year-old victim bleeding profusely after being stabbed in the upper body.
The young man was rushed to hospital in critical condition. His life would be threatened, according to the authorities.
According to the police, it was during a “meeting between the victim and the suspect” that things turned sour.
For a reason still unknown, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and then attacked his victim.
In a photo sent by a trader in the area, we see the victim dressed in a white t-shirt stained with blood, escorted by the police.
A security perimeter was erected in the area and a dog handler was requested to the scene to carry out searches.
The murder weapon was not found and the suspect was still at large at the end of the afternoon.
