The Week 18 game between the Chiefs and Broncos was compromised due to weather conditions.

But all is well that ends well as the Chiefs arrived safely despite difficult conditions.

The franchise spent more than 4 hours on the departure tarmac due to “rapid accumulation of ice” on the runways of Kansas City airport. Finally, the Chiefs were able to take off and land without problems in Denver to play the last regular season game this evening.

This match, however, does not represent any challenge for the Chiefs, already assured of being seeded No. 1 in the AFC with a record of 15 victories and only 1 defeat. Andy Reid has even decided to rest certain executives including Patrick Mahomes who will be replaced by Carson Wentz.

The Chiefs are also expected to rest Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, cornerback Trent McDuffie, left tackle Joe Thuney and his pair of running backs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt.

On the other hand, for the Broncos, this match is crucial.

With the Bengals’ 19-17 victory yesterday against the Steelers, they must win this match to qualify for the Wild Card round which will begin next weekend.

In the event of defeats, the Broncos will therefore let the Dolphins and the Bengals claim the last playoff place in the AFC. A Dolphins victory against the Jets and Miami will be the lucky one. If there is a defeat, Cincinnati will have achieved a half-miracle to qualify.
