Match: The compositions of PSG/Monaco (Champions Trophy) according to the press

Today’s press almost agrees on the compositions of the teams for the PSG/Monaco Champions Trophy this Sunday evening (5:30 p.m.). The uncertainty only concerns the midfielder on the Parisian side.

PSG launches its year 2025 this Sunday in Doha against AS Monaco as part of the Champions Trophy. A match which is worth a title for both teams and which will be played in a sold-out 974 stadium (44,000 people are expected) from 5:30 p.m.

In terms of the team compositions of this PSG/Monaco, both L’Equipe and Le Parisien expect to see Gianluigi starting Donnarumma rather than Matvey Safonov despite the Italian goalkeeper’s facial injury against the Monegasques on December 18. Donnarumma is better and should protect a four-man defense composed from right to left of Achraf Judge, MarquinhosWillian On it and Nuno Mendes.

A doubt between Zaire-Emery and Ruiz in the middle

In the middle, however, there is a doubt between Fabian Ruiz and Warren Zaire-Emery for the position of right relay. L’Equipe sees the Spanish European champion starting in this position while Le Parisien instead sees the French international. The two dailies, however, agree on the presence in the starting lineup of Vitinha as sentinel and João Neves as left relay.

As for the Parisian attack, we should find the same trio as during PSG’s 4-2 victory in Monaco in mid-December with Ousmane Dembele’s right winger, Désiré Gifted in false nine and Bradley Stagger as a left winger. The two newspapers therefore do not expect Gonçalo Ramos to start at the forefront or Lee Kang-in on one side.

The composition of PSG against Monaco according to the press: Donnarumma – Hakimi, Marquinhos (c), Pacho, Mendes – Ruiz or Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, Neves – Dembélé, Doué, Barcola

As for AS Monaco, Adi Hütter will be deprived of several elements, including Wilfried Singosuspended, and Folarin Baloguninjured, but recorded the return of his Swiss captain Denis Zakaria as well as his Polish goalkeeper Radek Majecki. Both were withdrawn on December 18 against PSG. If Zakaria will start this Sunday, it is more unclear regarding Majecki.

L’Equipe announces it in its probable composition when Le Parisien and RMC Sport are betting instead on Philipp Old. According to RMC, Majecki did not train on Saturday the day before the match. This is the only big uncertainty on the Monaco side, which should evolve in 4-2-3-1 against PSG with in particular the former Parisian Thilo Sweeper in central defense and the Russian Aleksandr Golovin in ten. At the forefront, it’s Breel Plunger which should begin.

The composition of Monaco against PSG according to the press: Köhn or Majecki – Vanderson, Kehrer, Salisu, Caio Henrique – Camara, Zakaria (c) – Akliouche, Golovin, Ben Seghir – Embolo
