Aaron Brian Gunches, sentenced to death for a murder committed in 2002, requested that his execution date be set earlier than expected, according to the Associated Press.

2,300 prisoners on death row
A first kill date had been planned for April 2023 but it had to be postponed due to a shortage of qualified personnel in the state of Arizona, according to the office of Governor Katie Hobbs.
