The Monitoring Committee of the La Liga-RFEF Coordination Agreement, meeting this Saturday, rejected the re-registration of Barcelona players, Dani Olmo and Víctor, as indicated in a joint official statement. By not granting them the federal license, both players will remain free agents.

“The Supervisory Committee agrees not to grant the prior visa nor the definitive license requested by FC Barcelona for the players Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Pau Víctor Delgado, in accordance with the literal interpretation of articles 130.2 and 141.5 of the General Regulations of the RFEF , which prevent a player whose license has been canceled from obtaining a license at the same club in the same season to which he was previously linked,” the two organizations noted.

The club chaired by Joan Laporta will have no other choice than to appeal to the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) or to ordinary justice to request the provisional registration of the two players.

“The RFEF-La Liga Coordination Agreement Monitoring Committee was convened to review the prior visa application and federal license processing for Mr. Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Mr. Pau Víctor Delgado, submitted by FC Barcelona.

Upon completion of FCB’s financial control requirements by January 3, 2025, and once relevant documentation has been completed by the club, the La Liga Budget Validation Body has decided to extend the FC Salary Limit Barcelona from this date.

In this context, the licenses of the aforementioned players were requested by FC Barcelona and, after analyzing the applicable federal regulations, the Supervisory Committee agrees not to grant the prior visa nor the definitive license requested by FC Barcelona for Mr. Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Mr. Pau Víctor Delgado, in accordance with the literal interpretation of articles 130.2 and 141.5 of the RFEF General Regulations which prevent a player whose license has been canceled from obtaining a license in the same team during the same season.

Barcelona in difficulty regarding Dani Olmo: the Spanish Federation and LaLiga reject the player’s request for reinstatement

The move comes after Barca reported on Friday that La Liga, “after reviewing the documentation sent by the club on the 30th and 31st,” granted them “the 1:1 financial fair play rule.”

This means, according to the Catalan club, that Barça “is no longer under intervention” and is qualified “to enter the transfer market normally from today.”

The club recalled that entry into the 1:1 financial control situation of La Liga “was necessary for the registration” of Olmo and Víctor, “which was requested on December 30.”

However, La Liga and the RFEF ultimately did not authorize this recording.

Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor were deregistered on January 1 by La Liga, which considered that Barcelona had not submitted all the necessary documents to respect the financial fair play required by the competition.

In reality, Barça could not prove before the last day of the year the receipt of part of the 100 million euros that they are supposed to receive for the operation of the VIP boxes at the new Spotify Camp Nou, which they were able to do on Friday after receiving international transfers from two Middle Eastern investors involved in the contracts.
