This is what a spokesperson for the Catalan club told the EFE agency. With this request for the application of an urgent precautionary measure, FC Barcelona aims to register the two players so that they can be available for the Super Cup in Arabia.
The aforementioned commission, after having “analyzed the applicable federal regulations”, determined “not to grant the prior visa nor the definitive license requested by FC Barcelona for the players D. Daniel Olmo Carvajal and D. Pau Víctor Delgado,” according to a press release.

La Liga and the RFEF added that they were taking this decision “in accordance with the literal interpretation” of articles 130.2 and 141.5 of the RFEF General Regulations, which prevent a player whose license has been canceled from obtaining a license in the same team during the same season where it was previously recorded.
This is the case of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who were not listed among the players listed by Barcelona on January 1, 2025, on the official LaLiga website. Both were withdrawn because Barcelona, according to the organization chaired by Javier Tebas, had not complied with financial control requirements.
This situation forced Barcelona to request a new license from the RFEF under the pretext of “force majeure”, which was refused by the governing body of Spanish football.
