According to Spanish media, this situation opens the way for Dani Olmo and youngster Pau Victor, whose request for a new license was also rejected, to sign with any other team during the January transfer window, as they are currently practically free from their contracts.
The Supervisory Commission, formed by the two organizing bodies of Spanish football, “has decided not to grant the preliminary visa nor the definitive license requested by FC Barcelona for the players Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Pau Victor Delgado,” declared the entities in their press release.
They justified their decision with articles which “prevent a player whose license has been canceled from obtaining a license in the same club during the same season in which he was already linked.”
La Liga withdrew the two players from FC Barcelona’s registered squad for the Spanish Championship on December 31 because the club did not meet the financial requirements to have them participate.

LaLiga removes Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor from Barcelona squad
Neither player was included in the squad for the Copa del Rey round of 16 match between Barça and amateur club Barbastro scheduled for this Saturday.
The Blaugranas, burdened by debt, had signed Olmo until December 31, 2024, with 80% of the salary of Danish international Andreas Christensen, thanks to an exception allowing clubs to replace players absent for long periods.
The potential free departure of Olmo, acquired for around 60 million euros last summer, would be a significant sporting and financial blow for Barca, currently third in La Liga and second in the Champions League group stage. This season, the 26-year-old has scored five goals in the league and one in the Champions League.
