Two second homes destroyed by flames on the same night, in the same neighborhood. The facts are particularly suspicious. An investigation must clarify the circumstances. The fact remains that firefighters were mobilized for a long time at a place called Anse à la Gourde, in Saint-François, to extinguish the flames and prevent any spread.
From midnight to almost 4:00 a.m. last night (from Friday January 3 to Saturday January 4, 2025), firefighters battled to put out two house fires which broke out in the same area: instead -says Anse à la Gourde, in Saint-François.
Their intervention ended at precisely 3:49 a.m.
No casualties have been reported.
12 firefighters, including 2 officers, were first dispatched to the scene, after a call made to the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS) at 11:57 p.m. A fire in an individual home was reported at Chemin des Eclaireurs. It is a single-storey concrete house with an area of 90 m2 who was concerned.
Again: another house in the same neighborhood, located 200 meters further, suffered the same fate, starting at 1 a.m. This time it was a mixed dwelling (wood and concrete), on two levels, 100 m2.
It quickly burst into flames.
The two houses, which turned out to be second homes, were completely destroyed.
In view of the circumstances, an investigation is necessary. In fact, the police were present on the scene, as were representatives of the Saint-François town hall and a team from EDF.
