No surprises during the second round of the Kranjska Gora giant. Largely in the lead at the end of the first route, Sara Hector confirmed her performance in the Slovenian resort to win her second victory of the winter, after that obtained in Killington (United States). The 32-year-old Swede thus takes the lead in the specialty ranking to the detriment of the Italian Federica Brignone, eliminated in the morning. The Olympic champion in the discipline also took first place overall, to the detriment of Camille Rast from Valais.

After his demonstration in the morning (more than a second margin), Hector managed his lead perfectly to win with 1”42 ahead of Lara Colturi and 1”52 over New Zealander Alice Robinson. The 18-year-old Albanian thus celebrates her first giant podium.

Best Swiss, Lara Gut-Behrami lost a place in the afternoon by finishing 6th more than two seconds behind (+2”11). Holder of the small globe of the specialty, the Ticino is struggling to find its feet as a giant this winter. Absent in Soelden, 13th in Killingston and 9th in Semmering, it is however on the upward slope. Camille Rast, 15th in the first round, set a good second time to sign her 7th top 10 of the winter (8th at 2”67). In the general classification, the Valaisanne is now 24 points behind Sara Hector.

Wendy Holdener, who had achieved the 10th time of the morning with bib No 27, did not confirm. Due to a big mistake during the second round, she fell down the rankings, finishing outside the top 15 (18th at 3”72). Michelle Gisin, 19th after the first route, finally ranked 26th.

The other Swiss did not score any points. Vanessa Kasper, Stefanie Grob, Simone Wild, Delphine Darbellay and Janine Maeschler, failed to qualify for the second round.
