What is this Donkey Kong game?
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD on Nintendo Switch brings together elements of the Wii and Nintendo 3DS versions (which included additional levels), released in 2010 and 2013 respectively. The infamous Tiki Tak tribe has hypnotized the inhabitants of the island. They also took the opportunity to steal from Donkey Kong’s banana reserve. You will then have to go through the different levels and beat the bosses to complete this adventure, which is certainly classic in its unfolding, but devilishly fun.
You will be able to use the Joy Con movement controls to hit the ground, roll and blow. Classic controls are of course available for playing normally, with buttons and analog sticks. At this price, is this game a good deal?
Less than €45 to replay a Nintendo Wii classic is a very good deal, especially since the game will keep you busy for a good while. In addition to the adventure, you will have to collect puzzle pieces to unlock dioramas and illustrations, and find the letters KONG in each world to access a secret level.
You can of course share your controllers so that a second player can play Diddy Kong during a local game. The latter can hover with his Thruster Barrel and shoot enemies with his trusty Kawouetto-gun. Remaster requires many objects to be present to simplify the adventure, such as bonus life balloons, or even invincibility potions.
