Victoire de Montréal forward Catherine Dubois has been suspended for one match due to her check against Megan Keller, the Professional Women’s Hockey League (LPHF) announced on Friday.

Dubois was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for an illegal hit to Keller’s head Monday in the first period of a 3-1 victory over the Boston Fleet.

The LPHF Player Safety Committee determined that Keller’s head was the primary target of a hit delivered with significantly opposite force and speed.

Dubois, 29, has one assist in five games this season. In addition to the 15 minutes awarded for her check against Keller, the Quebecer received a minor penalty.

La Victoire is 5-1-0 since the start of the campaign, including two tiebreaker victories. His 13 points in 6 games currently give him the best rate on the circuit (.722).

Kori Cheverie’s squad will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they face the Fleet again in Seattle.
