After Poland qualified earlier in the day, it’s time for the second semi-final of the United Cup. The United States faces the Czech Republic in a confrontation that promises to be balanced.

The first poster pits Coco Gauff against Karolina Muchova in a duel of former finalists at Roland-Garros.

More solid and definitely in shape at the start of 2025, the winner of the 2023 US Open, who had dominated Donna Vekic and Shuai Zhang in singles previously in this competition, was more consistent and won 6-1, 6-4 in 1h27.

Despite her clear victory against Jasmine Paolini in the quarter-finals, the Czech lost against Swiatek and Gauff in this United Cup.

In the process, Taylor Fritz could send his country to the final in the event of success against Tomas Machac.

The Czech got the best start and won the first set in a tiebreak. But as Machac served for the match in the second, the tension caught up with him and he ended up losing his nerve at the next change of ends.

Suffering from cramps, the 25th player in the world preferred to throw in the towel, and it was Fritz who allowed the Americans to qualify for the grand final of the United Cup 2025 (6-7, 6-5 ab.) against Poland, who defeated Kazakhstan in the first semi-final.

Winner of the first edition in 2023, the United States can become the first team to win two titles while Poland, finalist last year against Germany, will seek to add its name to the competition’s record.
