According to the weekly epidemiological surveillance bulletin for acute respiratory infections (published Friday January 3), Public Health France observes in Martinique an increase in indicators of the still ongoing flu epidemic. From December 23 to 29, 2024 according to the health authority, there are “900 estimated cases compared to 500 on average for the previous four weeks”.

During the same period, home visits from SOS doctors also increased, with 66 interventions, according to Public Health France.
On the emergency side, the figures remained “stable with 11 passages listed” during this last week of the past year compared to 10 passages on average, four weeks previously.
On the other hand, hospitalizations after visits to the emergency room increased in week 2024-52, with 8 hospitalizations observed compared to an average of 4 visits over the previous four weeks. Nearly three-quarters of people who went to the emergency room for flu were hospitalized.

Finally, regarding the bronchiolitis, the epidemic is still ongoing as well. The positivity rate remains “pupil” note SpF.

- Cover your mouth or nose every time you cough or sneeze;
- Blow your nose on single-use paper tissues thrown into a trash can, covered with a lid;
- Wash your hands regularly.
