Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen face off for the title this Friday evening in the final of the World Darts Championships taking place in London, Great Britain. The new star of the sport and the three-time world champion both won their tickets on Thursday, during the semi-finals.
Michael van Gerwen (PDC 3) is now in search of a 4th world crown after his coronations in 2014, 2017 and 2019. Now aged 35, he still holds the record for the youngest world champion established during his first final victory, at 24 years old.
Luke Littler (PDC 4) will, however, have the opportunity to erase this record. The Briton has not yet celebrated his 18th birthday when he is already preparing to compete in the second final of his career at the world championships.
Disappointed last year against the Englishman Luke Humphries, Littler arrived inflated with a resounding victory, 6-1 against Stephen Bunting (PDC 8), in the semi-final.
This final between the two best players in the world can be followed live from 9 p.m. on RTL play.
