Real still encounters enormous difficulties in establishing themselves in the lair of the beloved club, as evidenced by their results over the last decade.

In a few days, after the Copa match against Deportiva Minera, Ancelotti's team will travel to Saudi Arabia to compete in the Spanish Super Cup, the third title that the Madrilenians could win this season. But before that, there is the postponed La Liga match against Valencia, the major challenge of which is to regain leadership from Atletico and distance Barça by five points.

Real Madrid are the big favorites for this clash which will kick off at 9:00 p.m. this evening. Not only given Real's improvement in the game in recent weeks, but also the delicate situation of Valencia, in a relegation position and who has even just changed coach. However, the statistics from the last matches at Mestalla are far from flattering for the Merengues.

3 years without winning at Mestalla

Mestalla is quite simply the stadium where Real Madrid has performed worst over the last ten years, ahead of Atlético or Barcelona. Over the last decade, Real have only managed to win twice, while Valencia have done so five times.

The Madrilenians' last success at Mestalla dates back more than three years. On this occasion, Ancelotti's team, who had just arrived at the club for his second term in office, won 1-2. Hugo Duro gave the home team the lead in the 66th minute, but Vinicius in the 86th minute and Karim Benzema in the 88th minute gave the Merengues a victory.

A bitter last visit

Valencia Real Madrid's last match at Mestalla took place in March 2024, and ended in a big controversy with referee Gil Manzano. Valencia managed to take a 2-0 lead after 30 minutes thanks to goals from Hugo Duro and Yaremchuck. Vinicius managed to reduce the score just before the break, before equalizing 15 minutes from time.

The controversy arose at the very end of the match, when the referee whistled the end of the match while Brahim was crossing a ball from the right side which ended with a goal for Bellingham. The goal was not validated despite protests from Madrilenians.
