OGC Nice recorded good news this Friday with the return of Dante to the group. Having undergone meniscus surgery in December, the 41-year-old central defender could already play again against Rennes during the 16th day of Ligue 1. Against him, the Breton club will benefit from the contribution of winter recruit Seko Fofana.
Franck Haise had suggested the idea on Thursday. Depending on the sensations, Rosario and Dante could be “options” for the reception of Rennes during the 16th day of Ligue 1. And visibly the Dutch midfielder like the Brazilian defender felt sufficiently good since they both appear in the Nice group facing the Bretons. A real feat for Dante, just one month after meniscus surgery and at the age of 41.

Dante missed six games
After a big summer recruitment in the wake of the arrival of Franck Haise on the bench, Nice had a mixed start to the season. The fault, in particular, of the many injured. The return of Dante therefore constitutes superb news for the Aiglons before challenging a vengeful Rennais after a failed start to the championship.
Operated on December 3 in Lyon for a lesion of the internal meniscus of the right knee, the Brazilian missed the last six Nice matches in 2024. Expected at the end of January but already recovered, Dante has participated almost entirely in all training since the resumption of the December 29. Present in the group, the former Seleçao player should even start during the clash against Rennes.
Fofana is there on the Rennes side
It was also expected, given the rapid formalization of his transfer, and it is already effective: Seko Fofana could also play his first minutes in the colors of Rennes. But unlike Dante, the Ivorian midfielder should start on the sidelines.
Recruited in the early hours of the winter transfer window, the former Lens midfielder is in the group selected by Jorge Sampaoli for the trip to Nice.
No luck for Franck Haise who readily joked about his reunion with his former protégé from Lens.
