It was a sordid discovery which was made last Wednesday January 1, in an apartment in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) in the Sainte-Anne district. The body of a 77-year-old man was found lifeless in the home: the victim also had his eyes gouged out, explain our colleagues from Provence.
It was the neighbor of the accommodation who made the terrible discovery. She had been informed by the owner of the accommodation in which the body was found. The person concerned had no news from her 49-year-old daughter, who lived in this apartment. Worried, she asked her neighbor to go there. When she opened the door, the one who raised the alarm discovered a corridor stained with blood. The victim had probably been dead for several days.
She also came face to face with the forty-year-old who occupied the accommodation. According to the first elements of the investigation, it was confused. The occupant of the premises was taken to hospital under police escort. She, suspected of the murder, was arrested by the police. An investigation was opened for “intentional homicide”.
