Mohamed Salah has revealed why he chose Real Madrid star Vinicius over Rodri as the world's best player.
Indeed, Vinicius Jr. was named FIFA's Best Player of the Year 2024 in December, after an impressive year with Real Madrid.
The recognition came after he lost the Ballon d'Or to Spanish and Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
The winger has had an impressive 2024, having helped Real Madrid win the LaLiga title and their 15th UEFA Champions League trophy.
Salah talks about voting for Vini Jr.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah recognized Vinicius' talent and explained why he chose him over Rodri.
According to Fabrizio on X, the Egyptian was asked why he voted for Vini Jr. as the best player in the world: “Vinicius Jr. is a very good player, that's why!”
“He gets better every year and I hope he continues… I voted for him because he deserves it”, he added.
Salah, who started the season with a bang with Liverpool, was full of praise for the Brazilian, revealing just how good he is.
He was instrumental in Liverpool winning the title this season. The Reds are currently top of the Premier League, 6 points ahead of Arsenal, who are in second place.
The Egyptian has said he wants to win another Premier League title with Liverpool this season, even if his contract issue is not resolved.
