A Festi’Prix for Festi’Petits
This year, for the first time, Festi’Petits is launching a literary prize, the Festi’Petits Prize, which will reward a children’s album intended for toddlers. Intended to stimulate the curiosity of young readers, it will be officially presented on February 14, 2025, on the occasion of the professional day dedicated to those involved in culture and early childhood.
“Books are good for babies!” » exclaims David-Jonathan Benrubi, Deputy Director of the Media Library Network. Before explaining that through this project, the main objective is the development of “attention”. That “of the book which resists in its materiality and invites in its creativity. Of the book that makes the little one act and react, more or less, more or less well, enough for the adult to observe it, take part, and through their vote contribute to celebrating a particularly strong album, which will have nourished a moment particularly rich. »
The idea of this prize is therefore to put ourselves “at the height of little ones: the height of all possibilities, of all possible futures”expresses Éric Penso, Vice-President of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole
The 5 finalist albums for the Festi’Petits Prize were selected for their ability to awaken the imagination of little ones and nourish their curiosity. These works are made available to early childhood stakeholders and educational partners via La Ruche des Livres, a service which offers educational resources adapted to young people.
