To have pain, to feel bad or to not notice anything, and to be recognized as such by medicine, in the name of society. The subjective perception of one’s condition and/or the objective announcement that names it creates two beginnings for the illness. Reacting to the “fact” of being sick varies. The person suffering from a serious, chronic illness is called upon to “deal with” this new state.
