The next monthly memory café will be held on January 9, 2025 with the France Alzheimer Gers and related diseases association of the Lectoure Fleurance branch.
The Memory Café of the France Alzheimer association will now take place at the Hôtel le Fleurance, 247 route de Lectoure, more spacious and accessible to people in wheelchairs.
The association resumes on Thursday January 9 at 3 p.m., it will be about kindness, non-benevolence, mistreatment. The members make appointments with all those who feel concerned by these illnesses, whether they are caregivers, companions, affected, or even interested. At the end of this meeting, the participants will share the galette des rois.
Place of meeting and exchange
A psychologist, Virginie Loir, answers your questions about what concerns you on a daily basis. It provides keys to understanding to live better in the face of the distress that illness can cause. These discussions also allow you to realize that you are not alone when faced with this illness and to take advantage of getting to know each other for a moment. Learn to manage, take care of yourself to best support your loved ones.
During the year 2024, 9 memory cafés were held in Fleurance and as many in Lectoure, addressing themes such as the end of life, art therapy, aging, depression, support for caregivers, etc. As well as training for caregivers which welcomed 10 people, and conviviality actions to provide an additional opportunity to strengthen ties between everyone.
This new year always promises to be full of kindness, respect, listening, mutual aid and support for each caregiver who passes through the doors of the memory cafés and other actions. The association functions thanks to the devotion of its volunteers to bring to life the different moments offered. Please register before each Memory Café and arrive early.

Furthermore, a volunteer from the association offers an on-call service every first Tuesday of the month in Fleurance by appointment at the Générations Mouvement home, located at the Moulin du Roy.
