It’s a special evening ahead for the Dach brothers. Colton Dachrecalled from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, will make his National Hockey League debut tonight with the Chicago Blackhawks. This first match will be all the more memorable as he faces his older brother, Kirby Dachwho plays with the Montreal Canadiens.
In his press briefing, Kirby described the moment Colton told him the news.
We were texting to set up dinner yesterday, see if he had time to come from Rockford. Then, in the middle of our conversation, he just said to me: ‘Well, anyway, I’m going to see you tomorrow. I was called back.’ It’s really special.

Kirby also mentioned the efforts of their father, Dale, to attend the game.
We were trying to figure out how to get Dad into town. Everyone knows how much Colton worked to get to this point, and to see it pay off now is incredible.

Unfortunately, their mother Hilary and sister Callie will not be able to attend. Callie, who plays hockey for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology women’s team, is currently touring Europe with her team, accompanied by their mother.
This will be the first time that the two brothers will face each other in an official match.
We have already played together on an outdoor rink or during friendly matches in the summer at home. But for it to be in the NHL, it’s really incredible.
