It is the archetypal perfume of seduction. A rich and opulent fragrance that paved the way for the “orientals” and their amber accords that would dominate the industry until the early 1980s. With its name meaning “temple of love” in Sanskrit, this Shalimar tells of a bewitching femininity, eroticized by an overdose of vanilla combined with bergamot and iris. « Wearing Shalimar means letting your senses take power », will even say Jacques Guerlain, its creator. In addition to its stunning formula, there is this bottle, called “bat”, in Baccarat crystal, inspired by Mughal art and presented at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in 1925.
