Head to Florida for Pacerswho did not fail to treat their arrival with an attractive and masterful success in the face of Heat. It is also important to underline the monster performance of Tyrese Haliburton (33 points, 15 assists, 5 rebounds), helped by Myles Turner (21 points) et Pascal Siakam (18 points, 11 rebounds), while Bam Adebayo (20 points, 8 rebounds) then Kel'el Ware (25 points) at the end made their numbers.
Like Tyrese Haliburton, on fire and in all the right moves in attack, the Pacers get off to a flying start (38-25). The ball circulates, the 3-pointers fall in and the defense is well in place, leaving the Heat on the ropes. No more success for the Floridians over the period, since even if Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro try to stop the bleeding, by being aggressive, the teammates of Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner, authoritarian in the paint, make it rain baskets to stay the course at the break, without panicking (66-50).
The attacks are a hit when leaving the locker room. In particular that of Indiana who, behind a still brilliant and skillful Tyrese Haliburton, but above all supported by Myles Turner, Pascal Siakam, Obi Toppin and even Jarace Walker, takes the lead in the score. If Miami does his best to resist with Bam Adebayo, the deluge of 3-points hurts him in the back of the head (107-83). Add to this excessive ball losses, immediately punished, and you have a gap that is growing and cannot be reduced. Despite Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware or Terry Rozier, because Haliburton returns to add another layer, in a defense at bay.
“Game over”: the Pacers kick off 2025 with a well-deserved success (128-115), as they will have marched on the Heat from start to finish (up to +28 on the scoreboard). Enough to get back on their heels in the rankings…
WHAT TO REMEMBER
– Tyrese Haliburton demonstrated. It's already been several days since the leader regained rhythm and feeling, but here he is having one of his best outings of the season, certainly the best of all away from home. Inspired from the first minutes, he put the Pacers on the right track with his points and his passes, before giving the necessary boost after the break, then in the fourth quarter. If Indiana's offense was running at full speed, it was largely because “Rese” was an insoluble equation for the Heat.
– Would Jimmy Butler seek to force his departure ? A victory and a defeat for the Heat on this “back-to-back”, but it seems that the All-Star winger is showing his franchise that he wants to leave the ship as quickly as possible. Because, after being “benched” on Wednesday (9 points to 3/5), repeat without showing any more desire on Thursday (9 points to 3/6). Performances and a lack of aggression which are surprising, while “Jimmy Buckets” is only averaging 17.6 points this season (its lowest since… 2013/14).
