At least two people died and 18 others were injured when a small plane crashed onto the roof of a warehouse in Southern California on Thursday, ABC News reported.
The accident took place early in the afternoon near the municipal airport in Fullerton, a small town located 40 kilometers southeast of Los Angeles. Its cause remains unknown at this time.
“There are two confirmed deaths,” Fullerton police said on X.
Among the injured, “ten people were transported to area hospitals for treatment and eight people were treated on site,” she added.
Investigators do not yet know whether the deceased were on board the plane or workers at the factory where the plane crashed, a Fullerton police lieutenant told local channel KTLA.

“All we heard was a loud noise, ‘boom,’ and that was it. Then we started running” out of the factory, Jerome Cruz, one of the employees who witnessed the scene, told CBS News.
According to aerial images captured by a team from KABC, an ABC News affiliate, the plane crashed into the center of the building. A gaping hole can be seen on the roof of the factory, from which smoke is escaping.
We can also see rescue workers treating several injured people and firefighters rushing to reach the flames caused by the crash.
In a second video, which was verified by Reuters, it is also possible to see the explosion at the time of the crash.
A large plume of black smoke can be seen on the horizon.
The video comes from a surveillance camera from the Rucci Forged company located a few steps from the accident site.
According to the American aviation regulator (FAA), the aircraft was a single-engine, 4-seater RV-10 model produced by the Van’s Aircraft company.
Second crash in 1 month
However, this is not the first plane crash to occur near the Fullerton Municipal Airport.
On November 25, another single-engine plane crashed when it hit a tree while trying to make an emergency landing.
The crash was filmed by a surveillance camera offering the same angle of view as that of Rucci Forged’s camera.
The two people on board the plane were seriously injured in the crash.
