In Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced a series of ambitious programs intended to reorient values and promote a shared national identity. These initiatives aim to breathe new life into patriotism and strengthen ties between citizens and leaders.
In his New Year message, President Tinubu revealed his intention to launch the Charter of National Values, a document already approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
This charter will serve as a framework to encourage Nigerians to embrace ethical principles and demonstrate unwavering commitment to their nation.
The national identity project, the cornerstone of this vision, is based on a set of policies developed by the National Orientation Agency (NOA). It is structured around seven major axes intended to promote patriotism and strengthen national characters and symbols. This project aims to create a common basis of aspirations and objectives, both for citizens and for leaders.
“The moral rectitude of citizens and their faith in our country are fundamental to the success of the Renewed Hope program”said President Tinubu. He underlined that the year 2025 will be marked by reinforced adherence to ethical principles and shared values, supported by a major national orientation campaign.
The Charter of National Values, which will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2025, aims to establish a pact between the government and citizens, promoting trust and cooperation.
The president insisted on the central role of citizens in national development, affirming that the reforms undertaken will only produce lasting results if they are based on common values and unconditional love for the homeland.
As part of this strategy, President Tinubu also announced the holding of a national youth conference within the next three months.
This initiative will help mobilize young people around national objectives and strengthen their role in building a more united and prosperous nation.
By building on these projects, the government hopes to revive the feeling of belonging and build a Nigeria based on solid values shared by all.
