The British Prime Minister arrived in the Ukrainian capital on Thursday morning where he is due to meet Volodymyr Zelensky.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived in the Ukrainian capital on Thursday morning with a promise to help ensure the country’s long-term security.
The British government has indicated that Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must sign a treaty of “centenary partnership”covering areas such as defense, science, energy and trade.
This is Keir Starmer’s first trip to Ukraine since he took office in July. He visited the country in 2023, when he was opposition leader, and has spoken twice with Volodymyr Zelensky at 10 Downing St. since becoming prime minister.
Keir Starmer was welcomed at Kyiv train station by the UK Ambassador to Ukraine, Martin Harris, and Ukraine’s envoy to London, Valeri Zaluzhny.
The United Kingdom, one of Ukraine’s main military supporters, has pledged 12.8 billion pounds (15.2 billion euros) in military and civilian aid to Ukraine since the mass invasion. scale of Russia three years ago, and trained more than 50,000 Ukrainian soldiers on British soil.
Keir Starmer is expected to announce an additional £40 million (€47.5 million) in aid for Ukraine’s post-war economic recovery.
