The Pistons are one of the fittest teams in the League, if not the fittest team in the League, and it was the Wolves who paid the price with a 119-105 defeat, despite Anthony Edwards’ 53 points.

This season is complicated for Minnesota and this evening was no exception. After the match against Boston, Anthony Edwards declared that he wanted to be the one who scores the baskets rather than the one who makes the assists.

His performance this evening confirms his words since Ant was on another planet: 53 points (career record) on 16/31 shooting and 6 rebounds. An XXL match which should have brought a victory to the Wolves except that there were two problems.

The first: the Minnesota collective. If Anthony Edwards was on fire, the rest of the Wolves took a real cold snap with barely 52 points scored, less than the Minneapolis franchise player alone.

Second concern: the Pistons and more particularly Cade Cunningham. The one who hopes to obtain his first All-Star has dissected the Minnesota defense and offers another big game with 40 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists.

If Anthony Edwards could not count on opponents worthy of the evening event, this is not the case for Cade and this is where Ausar Thompson is mentioned. While the Detroit leader made Minnesota’s defense suffer, AT took care of protecting his half, especially in the first half where he made 5 interceptions.

The Pistons manage to have a 12-point lead and the Wolves never manage to catch up.

Final score: 119 – 105 in favor of Motor City which has a seventh victory in 10 matches while Minnesota suffers a 3rd consecutive setback despite Anthony Edwards’ incredible match. If Ant-Man wants to remember one thing from this evening, he can reassure himself by knowing that he now holds the record for points scored at Little Caesars Arena
