The second downhill training session took place this Wednesday in Wengen.
The downhillers met this Wednesday in Wengen for their second training session on the Lauberhorn XXL slope, the longest on the circuit. The American Ryan Cochran-Siegle was the fastest in the session ahead of the Norwegian Adrian Smiseth Sejersted (+0”26) and the Italian Mattia Casse (+049”), one of the men in form of the season and still at the forefront like Tuesday.
Sam Alphand stood out. With his bib 53, the Haut-Alpin achieves 10e time (at 1”57 of RCS). The other Blues did not particularly shine for this session. Maxence Muzaton makes the 20e time at 2”01, not far from Marco Odermatt (16e at 1”93). The experienced Adrien Théaux is at 22e rank (+ 2”29) while all the other Tricolores are beyond the Top 30.
See you Friday for the super-G
The third training session scheduled for Thursday is naturally canceled after the two successful sessions.
A great World Cup classic, Wengen hosts a super-G (Friday), a downhill (Saturday) and a slalom (Sunday).
