After Anthony Lopes, continues its degreasing operation. It's Gift Orban who has just left the Rhone club. As expected, the Nigerian striker signed with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

It was expected and it is now official, Gift Orban leaves Olympique Lyonnais and joins Hoffenheim. Arriving in January 2024 in Lyon, the striker will never have established himself in the club managed by John Textor. He will have participated in 21 matches, for only 5 goals scored.

The waltz of departures has begun

The degreasing operation continues in Lyon. After Anthony Lopes, it is now Gift Orban who is no longer an Olympique Lyonnais player. Recruited from La Gantoise for 14 million euros, the Nigerian striker goes to Hoffenheim for 9 million euros with three million euros in bonuses, including one million guaranteed. In addition, Lyon keeps 7.5% of the added value of a potential future transfer.

Hoffenheim sporting director Andreas Schicker was delighted with the arrival of Gift Orban, who will wear number 14 in Germany: “We have found in Gift Orban exactly the fast striker with good depth that we were looking for. Currently 5th in Ligue 1, Lyon will host (9 p.m. this Saturday). The club, coached by Pierre Sage, will have to downsize again this winter, having been relegated as a precautionary measure by the DNCG in November.
