They are the objects of fascination of the entire fashion press, even if we do not know what they contain. The handbags chosen by members of royalty are photographed from every angle during each of their countless official outings. Far from being just simple accessories hanging on their arms or shoulders, these pieces are carefully displayed depending on the event, sometimes to support the creators of their countries, sometimes to honor foreign brands during travel. Queens and princesses, however, have their big favorites. Letizia from Spain, for example, has an incredible collection of Initials Insignia bags, by Carolina Herrera. This it-bag created by the Spanish label stands out thanks to its timeless line and its distinctive CH clasp, perfect for adding a touch of elegance to the outfits of the wife of Felipe VI.

On the Windsor side, we focus more on British brands. Kate Middleton is regularly seen with Mulberry handbags, Amberley model preferably, in white to board at Philip SW Goldson Airport, Belize, on March 22, 2022 or sky blue to visit the Center on the Developing Child from Harvard University in Cambridge in Boston, December 2, 2022. A big fan of Alexander McQueen, the Princess of Wales also purchases a few pieces from the brand launched by the English designer who died in 2010. We particularly remember her Wicca raffia bag, which she wore with a summer dress in the stands at Wimbledon on July 2, 2019 in London.

The Monegasque family is a fan of major French brands

In Monaco, the great classics of French fashion are on the rise. Caroline of Monaco swears by Chanel’s quilted bags, commonly called the 2.55 in reference to their month and year of creation, in February 1955. Last appearance with such a creation: March 8, 2016 at the Chanel fashion show, fall collection -winter 2016/2017, during Fashion Week. Very practical thanks to its recognizable chain shoulder strap, an undisputed symbol of elegance, the sister of Prince Albert II often wears it on the shoulder to keep her hands free. Her sister-in-law Charlene prefers the Louis Vuitton house and her Capucine bag in silver alligator, perfect for adding a twist to her white ensemble during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games.
