A 61-year-old woman went the wrong way near Boulogne-sur-Mer and hit a vehicle head-on this Thursday, January 2. The driver died instantly. A 52-year-old man, in the other vehicle, could not be resuscitated by emergency services.
A sixty-year-old driver caused an accident this Thursday, January 2, killing a 52-year-old man after colliding head-on with her vehicle going the wrong way on a highway in Pas-de-Calais. The sixty-year-old also died instantly, the prefecture said. A woman in her forties, passenger of the 52-year-old man, was declared an absolute emergency, according to Nord Littoral.
The driver, aged 61 according to the firefighters, drove in the wrong direction at the end of the afternoon, around 5 p.m., on the A16. It triggered a first accident at the Herquelingue toll gate near Boulogne-sur-Mer, which did not cause any injuries. She continued on her way and again hit a car, the driver of which was killed, added the prefecture. The passenger hospitalized in absolute emergency was 46 years old, the firefighters said.
The A16 was cut in the direction Paris – Boulogne-sur-Mer, between exits 26 and 27, and a traffic jam of a few kilometers formed upstream of the accident, specified the road vigilance unit of the zonal prefecture. The authorities are calling for “absolutely” avoid the area.
