Family films dominate the French box office during school holidays: “Mufasa: The Lion King” maintains its place at the top of the ranking, ahead of the new arrival “Sonic 3 – The Movie”, and “Moana 2”, according to CBO Box Office Thursday.

For its second week in theaters, “Mufasa: The Lion King”, an animated film from Disney studios entrusted to Oscar-winning American director Barry Jenkins, crossed the milestone of 2.5 million cumulative admissions. Distributed on 689 screens, the film attracted 1.3 million spectators last week.

“Sonic 3 – The Movie”, a new opus in the adventures of the blue hedgehog made famous by the eponymous video game from the Sega studio, takes second place. It achieved 1.2 million entries. “Moana 2”, a sequel to the adventures of the Disney Polynesian princess, is close to seven million cumulative admissions for its fifth week in theaters.

Released at the same time, the French film “En fanfare”, which brings together Benjamin Lavernhe and Pierre Lottin on screen, maintains its fourth place with 1.6 million cumulative admissions since its release. New to theaters, the film “Nosferatu” with Lily-Rose Depp, comes in ninth position with just over 170,000 admissions.
